NO PREY IN WINDCLAN

Wildpaw sat patiently by the small bush near windclan camp. A few seconds later a rabbit appeared sniffing the air before boncing off. Wildpaw sprinted after it, his body already tired from lack of food. Just as he caught up with the rabbit, it hopped over the border, past the twoleg nest and into riverclan territory. Wildpaw hissed in frustration. He slowly walked back to camp, he had waited by that bush for quite some time just for the prey to run into riverclan territory. The open moor was empty of prey. Wildpaw breathed out heavily, remembering the stories the elders told about the great journey from the forest, across the mountains and to a new home, windclan had suffered then too. Was it possible the clans, or atleast windclan, would have to move again? Wildpaw shook the question from his pelt, and trotted off.

"CROWFOOD!" he spat as he saw his brother returning to camp. "What's happening to all the prey!?" Rockpaw exclaimed, his stomach growling every second

Wildpaw shook his head and looked at the grass beneath his forepaws. Suddenly he heard a bird near by. He pricked his ears and looked up, almost instantly, he saw the fat bird. He crouched into a pouncing position and waited for the bird to come closer.

Rockpaw lookeed at the bird. It looked like a giant meal compared to the stringy mice and thin rabbits the clan had been living on for the past few moons. All of a sudden, the wind changed direction and the bird smelt both cats. In an instant, it was in the air, flying higher and higher.

Wildpaw didn't wait a second later. He jumped into the air, his forepaws outstretched. His claws hit the bird's wing and it fell out the sky in suprise, Wildpaw landing on top of it. He gave the bird a fatal bite to the neck, and picked the body up. He nodded to his older brother to follow and headed back to camp.

Rockpaw picked up the mouse he had caught earlier and followed his brother back to camp. He dropped the mouse next to where Wildpaw had placed the bird. Only a tuft of mouse fur remained where the fresh kill pile used to be, but atleast now there were two pieces of prey there.

Iceshadow lifted his head to the sound of the two apprentices returning to camp. "Wildpaw, take that bird straight to the nursery, Rockpaw take the mouse to the elder's den" Iceshadow said bounding over to his two sons.

Wildpaw nodded and grabbed the bird in his jaws and padded over to the nusery. He dropped the bird and left. Wildpaw went into the apprentice den and curled up, it had been a long day.

Rockpaw nudged the mouse with his paws for a while, not really wanting to give the mouse away. He picked it up and headed for the elder's den, suddenly he heard a noise coming from out side the camp. It sounded like horses. 'OH NO!' he thought, 'HOW DID THE HORSES GET AWAY FROM THE HORSE PLACE?!' Rockpaw dropped the mouse and ran over to where his father was. "Father wake up!" he hissed into Iceshadow's ear.

Wildpaw opened his eyes in less then a second, the pounding of hooves getting louder and louder. He scrambled to his paws and ran out of the apprentice's den.

Iceshadow lifted his head. He didn't need his son howling in his ears to wake up and run. Iceshadow jumpeed up from where he was lying and raced past Rockpaw to the entrance of camp.
